Talking Bulk B+ Grow

this is going to be my first real "bulk grow". i've successfully grown mushrooms three times before, all were kits using 1 pint of rye as spawn and 3 pounds of composted cow manure. each kit produced three flushes and averaged around 10 grams dried per flush.

i am going to be spawning 3 gallons of spawn ( cambodian ankgor wat ) into 120 pounds of black cow composted cow manure mixed with 15 pounds pastuerized millet. cased with peatmoss pH adjusted with lime.

i will be utilising (3) 32 gallon roughneck totes. each tote has a 65cfm 4" computer fan with proper filters, each tote also has a 6" 5000K fluorescent light operated on 12VDC. i also have an automatic misting system consisting of a 5 gallon bucket, a hydroponic mini pump , also running off of 12VDC, with 3/8" tubing running to 12 aeroponic misters ( four in each tote with them mounted in the corners ). each totes has its own heating pad. all of this runs back to one programmable set of timers (actually its more like a mini computer that has inputs and outputs).

i layered the spawn and the substrate. each container is separated into 5

i just cased yesterday. the mycellium grew more rapidly than in the kits i've tried before. during colonization i had an air exchange rate of once every 2 days with the misters set to one second bursts four times a day. with absolutely no light. its around 84 degrees with 87%RH. when the casing layer is about 90% colonized im going to set a light cycle of 12/12. im also going to bring the temps down to 74 degrees. i have been slowly increasing the air exchange rate to 3 times a day as opposed to the begining of the spawn run which was once every 2 days.

it kinda sucks because i dont have a digital camera but im going to give detailed updates. criticizims and comments welcome. i am hoping to harvest between 2-3 pounds dry.

I Agree, mainly because he said he used "black cow" (actually sold as "black kow" with a k) brand manure, and from what I've seen it colonizes, but usually hardly pins, and I have seen 2 people try and use it with the same results (not in person, because it was in a grow log, but there was pictures.). I feel bad for this guy because he wasted 40 pounds bulk sub, and 1 gallon of spawn. even though the bulk sub was hardly a bulk sub...

Psilocybin mushrooms possess psychedelic properties. They are commonly known as "magic mushrooms" or "shrooms", and are available in smart shops in many parts of the world, though some countries have outlawed their sale. A number of other mushrooms are eaten for their psychoactive effects, such as fly agaric, which is used for shamanic purposes by tribes in northeast Siberia. They have also been used in the West to potentiate, or increase, religious experiences. Because of their psychoactive properties, some mushrooms have played a role in native medicine, where they have been used to affect mental and physical healing, and to facilitate visionary states. One such ritual is the Velada ceremony. A representative figure of traditional mushroom use is the shaman and curandera (priest-healer) María Sabina. Medicinal mushrooms Currently, many species of mushrooms and fungi utilized as folk medicines for thousands of years are under intense study by ethnobotanists and medical researchers. Maitake, shiitake, and reishi are prominent among those being researched for their potential anti-cancer, anti-viral, and/or immunity-enhancement properties. Psilocybin, originally an extract of certain psychedelic mushrooms, is being studied for its ability to help people suffering from mental disease, such as obsessive-compulsive disorder. Minute amounts have been reported to stop cluster and migraine headache

Psilocybin mushrooms (also called psilocybian mushrooms) are fungi that contain the psychedelic substances psilocybin and psilocin, and occasionally other psychoactive tryptamines. There are multiple colloquial terms for psilocybin mushrooms, the most common being magic mushrooms or 'shrooms. And Psilocybe cubensis is a species of psychedelic mushroom whose principle active compounds are psilocybin and psilocin. Psilocybe cubensis belongs to the Strophariaceae family of fungi and was previously known as Stropharia cubensis. The mushroom's cap is reddish-cinnamon brown to golden brown in color with white to yellowish stipe and will turn bluish/greenish when bruised.
