The Cubensis grows on manure, not on the ground. For sure. Only on manure of
vegetarian mamals (something to do with manure Ph). Manure heat has nothing
to do with it (that's why you need two or theree sunny days after the rain
for the mushrooms to start growing). The spores are introduced by the wind.
Manure has been a long time in the open when mushrooms grow (months), never
on fresh manure. Even better, sometimes you see Cubensis growin on grass,
and if you dig under it you can bet there's a piece of old manure under the
grass . It does not grow on dirt.
