say someone went out of town for a few days and when they got back they
had some mushrooms that had prety much dropped all their spores and were
highly mature
when they were driedthe caps turned really dark brown... almost black
other than that they dried out alright
are they rotten or just old?
thanks

My cat had that happen buggin, she let the caps mature and drop spores,
then they turned all black when dried....a shark freind of my cats had some
ate the cap and another shroomie and he said he felt fine...in fact it was
the first time he had ever done mushrooms and not gotten gut-rot...and he
has done them a few times. I dont think there is much to worry about. Just
harvest BEFORE the veil breaks next time or Directly after.
