Hi everyone i have a question.

I started to grow the mushrooms and all went ok until the last two days (that are the last days of the gowing cycle) when i noticed that a blue mould has grown in some zones of the box and has make a dent in the lower part of some mushrooms.
I immediately harvested the mushrooms and before placing them to dry i've cutted the bad parts with a scissors (when i made it i've noticed that the white part of the stem becomed immediately blue,is it normal?)

What i wuold like to know is if i still can eat them or if is better to throw them away.

Someone can tell me how to act please?

Thanks

The blueing is bruising. The "blue mold" was most likely bruising on the cake. Pictures help

Ya, I am a Mold Inspector/Biocide Applicator and I have never seen blue mold, so when there is blue on your shrooms it is a good sign, well it means that some of the psilocin and Psilocybin have escaped....from what I have been told it is like a reaction from the damage. I wonder how much the potency goes down cuz I purposely bruised some before giving em to this kid cuz he wouldn't shut up about these blue shrooms...

Your a moderator at this other website.....Shroomotopia?

Is this website a Shoomery+Mycotopia joint venture ? A site created from members of the two?

I clicked on the link....No Pan grow off? Where the pans man?:D

Trick...rub a wet q tip on the discoloration...if it comes off on cotton swab...its mold...if not...and its blue...its blueing...from over handling, over heat, or lack of moisture.

It's just bruising.

That is classic bruising, one way people can tell before they buy shrooms if they are real psilicybin or not.

I'm not 100% positive, but I've read that other MYC can bruise blue to. Like I said ... I'm not positive, I'm just repeating what I've read.

I have had vary small amounts of bluing on the myc itself, even after directly spraying with a fine mist, I usually only see blue on mushrooms, after they are cut within a few seconds sometimes, other times it can take up to 3 minutes before the bruising takes place... I'm sure there are many things that can impact the bruising, but its safe to say if its blue its moist likely bruising, any other color and you should worry, but I've never seen or herd of blue mold.

[EDIT] NineInchNails, I have not heard of any other types of mushrooms with blue bruising myc, but I have herd of other mushrooms that can bruise blue without the presents of psilocybin.
