The curious part is the mother says she saw empty Coricidin bottles.
Coricidin isn't sold in bottles.

Local kids use popular over-the-counter medicine to get high
posted: 08-21-2003

Parents beware, a new over-the-counter drug has become the drug of
choice for kids.

You've heard of teenagers sniffing glue or gasoline to get high, well
now some are experimenting with a popular over-the-counter cold medicine
to "feel good."

It's called coricidin (cor-i-see-din), but on the street it's known as
"candy", "triple c" or "robo".

16-year old Shreveport resident Crystal Newingham has never abused
Coricidin, but she says she's seen the devastating effects it's had on
her brother.

Newingham's brother overdosed on the over-the-counter cold medicine last
week. He's now seeking treatment at a psychiatric facility.

Their mother says she found empty bottles of the drug in her son's room
but never put two and two together.

Bossier Parish substance abuse counselor, David Walden, says parents
need to be aware of over-the-counter drugs like Coricidin.

Walden says some of the signs parents should look for as far as
Coricidin abuse is concerned are: sudden weight loss, change in behavior
and withdrawal.

Maybe he kept it in a little bottle, or the Mom is just an idiot.
