I don't think that's right at all.

Don't throw in the towel just yet. I live in the Tampa Bay (Gulf) area of
Florida. The majority of hunting expeditions I've staged have involved
driving INLAND for an hour or more. I can basically drive in any direction
EXCEPT toward the Gulf and find some decent pastures.

I'm not familiar with Port Orange, but I must assume that you can also
drive some distance INLAND and find shrooms. Are there any pastures near
you? Do you ever drive past grazing cows in your travels?

That's the key. Find the cows and you'll find shrooms.

But BE CAREFUL! Everybody in Florida, including John Law, knows why you are
wandering around on pastureland. Or why there is a parked car sitting on
the side of the road next to a cattle ranch. Some are cooler than others,
but mostly they're real live rednecks.

I just posted one of my scarier encounters in the other FLORIDA INFO
thread.

Other dangers:
Poisonous mushrooms
snakes and boars and bulls, etc.

There used to be a guy posting field locations on his web site, but I think
he got harrassed into quitting. I don't recommend this bringing attention
to a few specific spots anyway. It's sure to bring heat and I wouldn't be
caught dead within 10 miles of a 'shroom field' broadcast as such.

Good Luck,
Ben
