Hey wonderful Shroom People :)

I was hoping to get some advice on how best to cook
A. Muscaria

I'm a complete Noob when it comes to shrooms, and this will be my first experience

Next week I'll be getting 24 Grams with a friend, to share between us

I was thinking of shopping them up finely and cooking them in some water in a pan for?...
Not sure how much water to use (i.e cups per gram) and how long to cook for

Or is there a better way to eat them? I dont fancy eating them raw.

Thanks! - Javier.

Edit - By the way, just in case it isn't obvious, I'm also looking for the best way to get high and have a real good trip.

Honestly I have no idea. Most people stay away from them since the wrong amantia can kill you....and those I know who have tried it didn't like it....but you can post a thread at www.shroomotopia.net , it is a active mushroom forum like this one....so you are more likely to find someone there who knows if no one answers you here.

Tap few times on mushroom cap, to release spores. Then remove cap, clean off gills. Leave only red skin and about 0.5 cm of yellowish ''meat''. Then slice it and dry until cracker. You can pulverize it now and put it in yoghurt. I havent done it by myself, but when autumn comes, i will try this out. I have only 1 experience with amanitas so far. I ate 3 young caps raw. 1 hour passed and i started to feel really strange. I remember, i started to regret it, cuz this feeling was'nt pleasant. I fell asleep and i slept 16hrs, and had very cool dreams.

U guys r gonna fry yer livers! Taking milk thistle or fireweed b4 hand will help. Break off the cap and use the top part of the stem inside the cap. About a handful of these. An actual medicine man told me this. He said find ones growing under birch. The safest way is 2 drink the urine of someone or something that ate them. Btw these are not 4 recreation! They change u 4ever

Interestingly, The Siberians, Finns, Some Lapps and a small enclave in Afghanistan as well as the Ojibway of Nothern Michigan and Southern Ontario who have been eating Amanita between 3000 B.C. to 400 years of Use in North America, They never cook it or make a tea. They always dry the mushrooms in the sun or with heat from a campfire or near a fireplace in their longhouse or where ever they live.

I have met people who told me they cook a juice and then mix budd with it and let it dry and they get a speed like high. I personally do not recommend anyone ever eat Amanita like Venus and Hawk, who have an Amanita website and praise it with strange philosophies that most people would laugh at. Every fall, around the world,in the USA, Europe, and parts of Asia, dozens of people end up sick with nausea, vomiting and stomach cramps after ingesting amanita muscaria. And many hospitals give atropine for mushroom poisoning in general, however, when given to someone on Amanita muscaria, it intensifies the high a thousand fold. There are articles about that, read Andrew Weil's Mushrooms I, Mushrooms II and Mushrooms III, originally published in the Journal of Altered States of consciousness, then in the Journal of Psychedelic Drugs and later reprinted in all copies of The Marriage of the Sun and the Moon. He tells of intentional ingestions and trips to emergency rooms on Amanita. Check wioth the Poison Control Center in Atlanta for Mushroom Poisoning Cases.

I just do not support anyone having to go through the bad effects associated with Amanita muscaria.

It does not matter if the Amanita is under birch or under Pine. IT also grows around other trees in public parks, introduced years ago into areas that were mulched then overlaid years later with new sod and or remulched in wooded areas and in the PNW in gardens just walking down the street. In Astoria is a closed naval hospital with about a 100 pound patch every fall of 6-9 varieties of active Amanitas. IT is not a hallucinogen and one only gets semi drunk and generally falls into a dreamlike state but is plagued with stomach aches, nausea and vomiting. The A. pantherina species is ten times more potent than the A. muscaria variations. Even the newly discovered Amanita Mira in Malaysia and Thailand has ibotenic acid and muscimol, as well as the norman amounts of muscarine which is what causes stomach discomfort.-

There are different types of amantias and there are also poisonous ones that look just like em...so I wouldn't bother, you are risking your health and it isn't like tripping from what I hear...just grow some cubies and it will be much safer...everyone I know who has tried them says they suck and it didn't feel good...also, you can't tap the spores out of them, if anything you put a cap on foil under a glass for 24 hrs to get em to drop spores but that is only if fresh...but idk anything as far as prep goes but the risk doesn't outweigh the reward so i would toss em in the trash and grow some cubies
