the basic pf tek is2 cups verm, 1 cup brown rice flour, mix and add 1 cup of water, then put in jars and add 1 inch of dry verm on the top as a buffer

Getting the jars of BRF sterile and then keeping them sterile through the entire process is the key to a successful grow.

I have been trying both 1/2 pint wide jars as well as 1/2 pint tall jars for my PF Teks (and successfully able to get the cakes out of both with ease), but 1/2 pint wide is sooooo much faster to colonize....but now that I've dunked and rolled, both are pinning around the same time in my fruiting chamber...
