people go out and hunt for magic mushies but what they dont know is there are many poisonous mushies like galerina witch is suprisingly similer to psilocybe stunzii.Galerina WILL KILL.It contains amatoxins that shut your liver down and without a liver transplant you will DIE. It is a little brown mushroom much like the psilocybe family. If this doesent scare you i dont know what will .Heres what i recomend to u.If ur not a expirenced mushroom hunter dont go picking random mushies.If your going to make sure you know everything about tha color,size,shape,spore print,spore color,and all the look alikes.Making one little mistake could be the difference between life and death.Galerina + many others are very toxic so dont be stupid and use the brain god gave you....... if u have any questions or just want to give feedback please do

Ya we always tell people to grow their own so they know what they are taking....I wouldn't eat anything I find...

I only hunt edibles, nothing is more rewarding than finding some nice Amanita jacksonii, or Boletus bicolor or Chants and then cooking them up, YUM!

I do not recommend hunting mushrooms in the genus Amanita if you are new to hunting though, there several lookalikes to A. jacksonii that can poison you.

For me it would be a dangerous game hunt in Africa with the woman of my dreams operating the video camera...incidentally, if you find her please let me know;

If you want some data and good fotos pf deadly Galerina autumnalis, G. Marginata and G. venenata and Conocybe filaris (Formerly 40-years-ago known as Pholiotina cyanopoda and then Gelerina cyanopoda) and finaly Concybe filaris contain amatoxins and or Phallotoxins) similar to those found in the deadly species of Amanita.

Go to mushroomjohn website and then open the all things shroomey link on home page and go to species ID. For some reason it will not let me post the URL scroll down to deadly look-a-likes, or read the field guide on that page, also included on that page are descriptions of 65 of the more than 200 known psilocybian mushrooms and many such as P. cyanescens, etc have more than two to three hundred photos, each includes bluing versions, lawn varieties, mulch varieties, green-staining varieties, and even drying or in the process of drying, so there are about 3,000 photos all open to large screen size images.

On the same page species is a link to Amanita, the book Psilocybian mushroom cultivation with over 300 of the best ever photos including grow rooms that once produced over 20,000 kilos per week, A section link on various strains of SE Asia Cubes and Copes I developed or developed with others for internet and Dutch sales, and types of cattle and habitats, as well as a section on shroomers in action picking from around the world.
