Does anyone know what type of magic mushrooms grow around Southern Missouri and Arkansas? Any pictures or names would be greatly appreciated.
I tried for many years to get such answers and found no one wants to take a risk by passing on this kind of information. I live in an area that have them, but cant get a straight answer on what to pick.

Well in NorthWestern Arkansas there are golden brown mushrooms with a white dot on the top. Blushish grey gills with bruising stem. I can find those in the forrests around my house.

Well psilocybian mushrooms as a rule never bruise bluish in the gills. That is because their spore colors are usually chocolate brown to a dark purplish or violet brown in color. Caps and stems bruise blue. Chlorophyllum molybdites, also known as 'green gills' and/or 'Morgan's Lepiota have green gills as implied by its nick name are toxic and common in fields of grassy areas and in lawns at times, expecialli in the SE USA.
mycospora, and they do not grow in woods.
Some Stropharia species as denoted in Paul Stamets book,
Psilocybin Mushrooms of the world have blue green tones to them, grow in pastures and wooded areas in mulchy grounds are blue to blue green in color but contain no active ingredients.
And some boletes stain a bluish to blue green but are toxic and can be deadly but have porus bottoms and no gills.
No psilocybian mushrooms stain blue to bluish green in the gills of the caps. I have one such shroom from a cultivated cube in a mycobag that blued on the gills. Never in the wild and only possibly, maybe, one in a million cubes may have blue gills in in vitro cultivations in a home.

If you are in Australia, then what makes you think that Arkansaw has cubes. No one has ever deposited any cubes from the state of Arkansaw in any University herbarium in the South.

I suggest you invest in a good mushroom reference manual there are some out there and even a few e-books you can download online to help you identify unknown shrooms. I grew up in Western Arkansas and can tell you for a fact that there are many types of shrooms around here this time of the year some are good in a salad or as an addition to a recipe and some are great dried or made into a tea with good music and some will kill you or put you in the hospital. If your not sure about mushroom finds its better to pass them up if you are not sure of what you have found.

Then you should change your location to Arkansas and not Australia. It is misleading if you want people to help you. I personally do not like to responde to someone who posts that they are in one place, you such as above where it says you are in Australia, and then have u say you are in Arkansas. That is a waste of my time.
Sorry if that sounds rude, but it probably is.
