Hey im new here and i just got my first syringe in the mail a few days ago. After inspection today, i noticed a black thing just floating around in the 10 cc's of fluid. I didnt see this on the inspection i did a few days ago when i first got it. Could this possibly be contamination? Is the only way to tell for sure to just try inoculating and seeing what happens?
One last thing, i got a bunch of mason jars to use but they are pint sized. Whats the ratio of brown rice to water and how much should i put in a 1 pint sized jar before sterilizing and inoculating because dont they expand quite a bit after being pressure cooked?
