Blue Bruise VS Moldy Mold

Swim has a mushroom kit.

Same as that.

Now there are mushrooms (They smell fine), but on the stalk there where blue/grey lines.
swim noticed the blue/grey on mushrooms same day the caps opened.

swim got a q-tip, soaked in water and tried to rub off the blue/grey.
The grey/blue lines turned into dark blue (No grey/blue lines now)
The q-tip had blue stains on it.

swim hear the q-tip test has been said to not work? Is there a chance that blue could be on the q-tip and them still been ok?


The bag wasenet opened until the 'caps opened/blue grey on them'.

are you sure it didn't drop its spores and that is what you are wiping off?

How do I tell the difference in blue spores and blue bruise?

I explained the bruise/spores as well as I could. :(
Grey/blue when wetted turns to dark blue.

It would be better if you had a picture you could put up...the best I can say is to watch it and make sure it isn't furry, If you touch your cakes or shrooms they will bruise blue, without a pic though, I cant help you much...

just bruising is all. where did you get your kit from? sometimes if the q-tip gets wet then some of the blue will show up on the q0-tip
