Crossing two different species

Is it possible to me to put in 2 different species of spores into one jar and they interbreed(the mycelium combines) to give me a more/less potent mushroom? :confused:

Yes if you make an Liquid culture but it will be completely random and you need two species that are drastically different, so you can see if something actually happened
