Is it ok to let the mushroom fruit in a dark but warm place such as an airing cupboard. I'm advised to let them grow in indirect sunlight but it wouldn't be as warm on say a window sill. Do they need any light at all to grow?

They only need light to know what direction to grow and to trigger pinning. I did just have some myc I put in a plant growbox fruit after 2 months and that is high light but only one came up. I usually use a 3-4watt cfl and that is overkill....you can put in a dark cupboard and run string lights inside it....just a lil light 12 hrs a day....or even if you leave it open a crack so light gets in will be enough, but to ensure a good pinset I would get a $7. light rope at walmart and use that at least. Room Temp is all you need to fruit....
ive had great luck with no light at all after casing
