I have had a few questions that I was unable to find any information to answer myself, so I have decided to try a few of the following things to see what happens... ( I understand and have been following the correct procedures these are more like experiments)
1.) What if I transfered growing mycelium from a casing directly into a prepared rye grain jar? Will it take?
2.) Would the same Mycelium transfer as effectively as using a mushroom pin in an agar medium?
Im going to try a few of these things out and will let you know what comes about... let me know if you have tried any of these things and successes/failures you have had... Nice to be a new member here,

1) yes
2) Yes
However when myc goes into its fruiting stage it will usually not do a good job colonizing after but if you take a tray that is almost all colonized but hasn't started pinning then you can g2g and noc up another jar with it.
As far as agar goes, they put myc on agar and wait to see what fruits to see if myc is a fruiting strain or not....but it will be a very small shroom, I have seen a couple pics of shrooms growing out of liquid cultures too.
ive actually seen some nice'ish shrooms growing from a plate :D

That's a new one.
Honestly I have no clue. You could try a test jar to see, if your willing to take the loss.
I'd be interested to know the results.
Maybe ask at www.shroomtopia.com , threres some one over there who might know.

Wont work dogs eat meat, if you fed you dog nothing but organic veggies, and grains, yes. But you would have to make sure your dog doesn't sneak any meat AT ALL, and I think your dog would hate you. lol
[EDIT] but i suppose if you did feed your dog a 100% organic grain and vegitable diet it's poo could be used for growing mushrooms; in theory anyway; i haven't tried this.
