Hey Everyone. I'm new, and I just wanted to say hi. I've been wanting to start growing for a while, and I'm planning on starting soon. The only problem is that I'm in a situation where I need to receive spores rather inconspicuously, so right now I'm trying to get some spores to germinate from the dried gill material of a shroom from an 1/8 I bought. It's not going so successfully so far though :(

Anyone have any extra prints?

Hey everyone. Im a friend of Gecko. We've just started shrooms and its some good stuff. Been buying regularly from our supplier but like he said would like to grow our own. We are trying to germinate spores from the dried bought shrooms but to no luck. We would really appreciate it if anyone could help us get some spore prints. :P

Using spores from dried street mushrooms probably wont ever work, IMHFO. If you live in a state that allows you to order spores, may I suggest Ralphsters.

Of course there are always folks that are willing to give prints away and we appreciate them, however if you starting out for the first time, again this is just my opinion, I would suggest starting with B+ using the PF Tek, it's just a very easy, almost fail proof way to begin.

The advantage using the PF Tek, the spores are in a sterile syringe and much easier to work with than prints, for beginners.

I almost gave up my hobby because I struggled in the beginning, using spore prints and agar, I never had success until I tried the syringes, once I had some successful grows under my belt, I was able to then finally grow the agar cultures later without failure. Experience is priceless in this hobby.
