First you'll need a fridge, small or large its up to you.

Next an electric base board thermostat. You can get one of these from homecheapo for $17.96

And one extension cord that you don't mind chopping in half. This is to supply power to the thermostat and an outlet after the thermostat to plug your heat source into.

As you can see the power from the wall outlet connects to the red wires and the power out to the heat source connects to the black wires. It couldn't get more simple.

Now you just need a heat source. I used a heat pad for a lizard aquarium. But you could use just about anything that makes heat and plugs into an outlet.

Here is one in action.

This could work on a larger scale easy enough. A small room or a big chest freezer. You could use a 4ft electric base board heater, there only like $35 at homecheepo. You can even get thermostats that do both heat and cooling too, for those hotter climates.
With a little skill the world is at your finger tips!!

I would like to thank Striker for the idea and help with mine.

Very nice. What temperature fluctuations are you seeing? Let's say I set it for "75" degrees. How low before it kicks on and how high before it shuts off.

BTW,the part number is Model GPMG8046 Ritetemp Manual Off White Vertical Single Pole High Voltage Thermostat 110/220 Volts Heat Only

I got one of these at the Home Cheapo. They are actually clearancing them because they are discontinued. I think I paid $13.50.

I'm noticing +- 2.5 degree fluctuations.

I ripped it apart to see if there was anyway to tighten up the temperature swing. The only adjustment I saw was something labeled SVR1 but I believe that is to set the actual temperature, not the swing. I called Ritetemp and they said there was no way to set the swing on this model.

I can live with +-2.5 degrees for $13.50 (so I'm swinging between 80-85 degrees).

Thanks for the info.

I saw someone had posted somewhere that they used an old computer router as a heat source for an incubator. I'm a newbie so I'm gonna give it a try. I'm putting them in a cooler and running the cords out the drain on it. Figured it was alot quieter than the space heater i was gonna use.

I built one of these , but I didnt have a fridge so I built a frame out of 1/2 " pvc pipe for shelving then skinned it with 1 1/2" foam board to insulate, and for a door w/ sum duct tape.
Yes its getto, but it works ! :)

GREAT IDEA, kinda pricey though. I would do this if I lived were it was cold, my house stays in the 75-90 range year round, so i wouldn't ever need anything to keep my grow room warmer, in fact I have to try vary hard to keep temps down during fruiting, I swear everything here colonizes quickly, I get fully colonized jars in a 3-6 days, but it takes forever for me to get musheys without caseing to lock in humidity and moisture, because I don't know if you have realized when temps go up, perlite doesn't keep it vary humid at all. spray bottles are my friend.
