If you ate one of those you'd soon know about and not in a nice way, amanita's of the family amanita are poisonous, its cousin amanita virosa aka: the destroying angel is deadly, dissolves your liver and kidneys within hours after ingestion and if not caught very quickly is nearly always fatal as there is no antidote.

As for Fly agaric, it would probably make you spew for a good few hours, could depending on the dose, put you into a coma and give you a very nasty case of the runs :eek: Dont eat it!

I cant get over the fact they sell them dried in the legal herbal high shops, probably because its the kind of bad trip you would never forget.. Smoking it on the other hand well that has possibilities.. But rather you than me!

Thanks for the extended information about the mushrooms. I was actually going to try getting some. Lol. Even though they don't sell them. :p

But I did get some gold caps with blue bruising and purple prints. They're wicked sweet. :D

And I'm patiently awaiting for my birthday on the 23rd of this month, september, because it's my trudition that I started last year. I have to eat shrooms on every birthday. :D

dude, amanita muscaria are perfectly fine to eat as long as its muscaria you're eating. it will give you discomfort and nausea initially, but as long as this is what you're eating, it just trips you out. although, for any possible contamination, milk thistle is supposed to prevent any sort of potential liver damage.

effects are in generally three stages: 1. nausea/body effects, 2. sedated/dreamy, 3. psychedelic effects.

Haha, that's what I was thinking. My friend bought some Amanita from a head shop a few years back and tried it. I was his chaperon. Nothing happened. He said it tasted like piss.

Ya there are so many types of amantias and they really don't do anything that great, the possibility of getting sick seems higher than the possibility of getting high from it. I prefer to grow my own shrooms so I always know what I am eating is safe...

Yes, in small dose's they have been known to be vary hallucinogenic, and psychedelic, most likely because they are poisonous and that's your body reacting to some horrible chemicals Kinda like death caps, but if you ate a little you will trip balls, but be fine, if you ate alot your dead already. lol, they sell these online and are vary cheap (20 a OZ)... Actually it's hard to die off these, although they are widley known as a poisonous mushroom, they are cultivated for psychedelic reasons, and are eaten all over the world.

These mushrooms are what Alice ate before she entered wonderland. lol

The active ingredient in Amanita is muscimol which is converted from ibotenic acid through decarboxylation when the mushroom is dried. The Amanita trip typically begins with feelings of euphoria and peaceful bliss. As the muscimol sets in, individuals can experience intense psychedelic effects, such as auditory and visual hallucinations.

They have to be dried first in order to be safe to eat, they sell them by dry weight, and they're legal to buy, illegal to eat.

wow i read about the amanita when i was starting my interest in microbio and it looks soo cool under the scope but because of the way it grows and absorbs its food and from what it can grow from i wouldnt suggest eating it especialy after reading up on the family of the poi mushys study before ingestion thats my mushy motto!

Yes i haven't, and wouldn't eat as well, but a lot of people around the world do so i guess if you want to go ahead, but don't overdo it, and eat them dry because the poisonous chemical changes to non-poisonous after drying. Again i would not suggest anyone eat these.

i regularly pick and consume fly agaric when ever the season is right !! in my home town where they are abundant !! lots of birch and pine there symbiotic buddys !!

it is not a trip for everyone as most peeps will not like the nausia that often comes with it !!
but over all it is a very warm and fuzzy body buzz rather than the traditional trip that comes with cubensis shrooms !!

my advice to anyone thinking of trying these enchanting lil beauties would be do your homework , know what your hunting !! many of the shrooms that may look similar have very differant effects !!! buy on the net or in a head shop to be safe !!

dose is a different matter to be safe start at 10g dried but i feel 15g-25g is your general dose but remember what your taking !!! do not under estimate wild mushrooms !!!!

nausea can be eased off buy drinking your shrooms in a brew rather than actualy eating them !!

remember we've been eating fly agaric mushys in europe since our nomadic ancestors and later on our nature worshiping pagan brothers !! who respected the knowlage that nature provides !! i just ate one of those will i be ok ?
