It has been 1 week and 1 day since jars were tucked under the bed. There
still has been no change. Is this sometimes normal, or was it not done
correctly. As you all know from my previous posts, this is the first
attempt to home-grow by my Aunt's Sister's Cousin.
Also, Sporelab does ship to the States....I just saw someone was posting
about them. As for the California thing, that state is always doing
something different from the rest of the states. Different emmissions for
vehicles, different tax on tobaccos and different time zone :)

Did your aunt's sister's cousin shake the syringe vigorously before each
injection?
My mud sharks' first attempt ignored this step and had no growth after a
week. He then reinjected the same jars and made certain to shake them and
even smacked them against his free hand and, Voila!...3 days later...magic!
Good Luck,

I assume since you didn't say anything about contams that you have none.
This is a great sign!
What is the temp? Does the temp fluctuate? Are your jars sealed (tape over
the holes)? Do you tend to check on them several times a day? What size
jars? Are you using grains, popcorn, BRF, birdseed, ect...? Did you follow a
tek or are you winging it?
yadi yadi yadi so on and so forth... you get the idea.

i inoculated one cake 3 days ago.
i stuck the needle striate down into the center hole (i dont' use 4 hole
tek) like always.
in 3 days:
looking at the bottom of the 1\2 pint jar, as always
there's a dime size white circle growing.
i keep my jar in the dark and it is 80 to 85 degrees in this house, cuz of
the summer heat.
as soon as it becomes completly comsumed in white i will mix it in with my
casting mix
but i will use the molly tek with watering crystals inpreganted with the
casting
mixes leftover water.
i'll keep posting these resolts, keep your eyes open, till next post CU

they don't relly need to be taped.

I was confused who was asking the question , I thought liteage1 was
answering questions... puzzling?
Anyway, at that temp it may take some time to colonize. You can decrease the
time by raising the temp a bit around 80 for P. Cubensis. There are many
ways to raise the temp www.shroomery.com. If you have used a PF like tek
then you probably topped off your jars with dry vermiculite/perlite. If so
it is totally safe to remove any tape you may have covering the holes. If
you haven't try first dealing with your temp problem before uncovering your
inoc hole/holes. I have never read anything good about using perlite instead
of vermiculite. Mostly just statements that said perlite tends to clump and
isn't as good as verm due to lack of air spaces that allow better myc
growth, but what the hell give er a whack. You really can't mess anything up
by checking unless you're really dirty. But you will drive yourself crazy
and it can be tough to gauge growth once it gets started. However when you
haven't looked in on things in a few days and you see snow white Christmas
in a jar... oh baby. Patience, I am learning is a virtue
Or so my 3 toed Sloth says

I was answering Buggin when he asked what tek was being used and so on.
Anyway, one of the three jars showed two circles of growth about the size
of a quarter on the sides of the jar, and the other two still show no
signs. I guess that is good news. Keep fingers crossed for the other
two. So far so good, it is just taking longer for it to start than I
thought was normal.

My PF cakes with regular Ps. Cub. have taken about 2 and a half weeks
to start growing mycelium, that i guess because of high temp : 90-95 F

Wow that's hot. can you cool it down at all? 106° if terminal but I hear
anything over 96° is really tough on the myc. P. Cube actually does best at
78° to 82° for spawning according to "the Mushroom Cultivator"

Really try to cool them down, with external temp in the 90's then internal
temp is going to be really high , close to terminal.
